Pinstriping

Looking to install pinstriping on my "07 2LT. Looking for opinions: What color would look best with my Golden Teal finish? This color is extremely rare in this neck of the woods (never seen another) so I can't see one ahead of time. I was leaning toward some shade of gold, but my wife doesn't think that would look good. What do y'all think?

Well first , get some tape rolls of the colour you like and put a small piece on your HHR about 4 or 5 inches should do it, then take a few days and look at it, after that decide if you still like it.

I choose red on my Imperial Blue metallic and still like it after all these years.

OldBlue's advice is spot on.

A pic of yours would also be helpful. Don't remember any golden Teal HHRs', & I would dare to say we like pics.

Pinstripes can be as bold or as subtle as you like. If you want them to jump out at you, use a contrasting color. If you want them to just accentuate a body line, use a different shade of the same color. I had a black Mercury Milan with dark gray pinstripes that were barely noticeable from 30 feet away but they complimented the car perfectly. I've seen red metallic Milans with gold pinstripes that you could easily see from twice the distance but they also complimented the modern, angular body style perfectly.

On a vehicle with rounded styling like the HHR, placement will be as critical as color choice.

Pinstriping

I shall try to get a pic and figure out how to post it. Mine is the only Golden Teal one that I have ever seen; I guess they are kinda rare. When I told my wife of fifty years that the color - which she had not yet seen - was "kinda feminine", she responded - after just seeing it - that it was not. She then said "I like it." Go figure.

Not OldSwede's (as far as I know) but this is Golden Teal...

It's teal with a gold flake in it...

Could be a tough color to contrast. Gold pinstripe might be the way to go.

Yep, that is it. You can't see the flake unless you are up close or it is in the sun. Looks much better in person. First glance, I did not like it. Today, it is among my favorite HHR colors, although I still wish it were white with a tan interior
When I say "that is it", I meant the color.

The HHR in the pic is not mine.

Very Sharp Color, to me it looks like some blue -gray is in the mix. How about silver pinstripes to accent the rims. Nice color. NOT feminine at all..
