Question Question about panel door 'poppers'

My panel rear door poppers work flawlessly... But, I would like 'em to open the door quite a but farther. I getting tired of manually opening the door all the way after I pop it to allow my dog to jump right in. Is there a way to strengthen (or change) the spring (in the popper) so that this would happen? Frankly, I haven't checked it out yet; thought someone would/might have an idea...

Do the doors slide back after opening or do they swing like the fronts do? If they slide to the back like a minivan then you would probably need to add something that would slide it like on the Montana minivans did after 05.

I don't know of any product, but I don't see why something couldn't be fabricated. Attaching a spring to the storage box might be a place to start.

Is there a true popper there ? I don't see it if there is..

Or is it just the rubber seal, that pushes the door after the lock has been released..

sleeper,
There does seem to be some kind of a popper; maybe built into the latch?

Father Azmodius,
I never thought of that. If you put it down low on the box, it wouldn't be in the way. You could gently glue some kind of 'pad' (plastic) to the door to prevent abrasion...
I'll research for the right spring length and strength...
Thanks for the tip!!!

T 20-

I don't see it on my 08 Panel, just the latch.

Mine do fine, but Father Azmodius' idea, sounds like an easy fix for you.
