Quick question about emblem removal

Hey folks,
It's been a while since i've been active on the forum. I wanted to update you all on my progress. My rear bowtie emblem was bubbling so i removed it, sanded it, applied Duplicolor paint adhesive/primer, and topped it off with Duplicolor color match paint and it looks great! (pics to come shortly).
I am also going to remove the rest of the emblems from the tailgate; the HHR, LT, and the god-awful ugly yellow FlexFuel symbols. I hope this will clean up and add to the blacked out theme of my ride.

My question is are the side fender GM logos removable? Are they applied to the body in the same fashion as the rear emblems with a 3m style double sided tape or do they have a post that will leave holes in the fender that will require body work to patch it?

Also, is there an easy way to remove the top gold layer of the bowtie in the front grill? Is it safe to tape off and block the grill/front end and spray it while it in still in place on the grill? (I don't want to only black-out the rear or else the whole theme won't be consistent.)

Thank you all for your time,

Eddie

The side emblems are double sided tape.

P.S. I also updated all four corners of my driving lights. I taped off the ~1/2in. where the bulb glows and painted the rest of the reflector the same Duplicolor color match black paint. This helps clean up the side of my car and should also prevent any qualms from authorities or during state inspection.

Someone around here seem to like the plastic part of the bowtie emblem on my HHR as much as I do so I after buying a second set and having them stolen in less than a week I taped off the area that the pretty gold plastic part goes on and applied a coat or two of safety yellow semi reflective spray paint.

It doesn’t look to bad until you get close enough to see where the void under the plastic part is, that is pretty rough but,… I have pretty serious doubts that anyone will be able to peal the paint off and steal it.

That's too bad Grizzly, I'm sorry to hear that you've had your bowties stolen, but it seems that your new technique is working pretty well. You could try to take the gold part(s) off and reapply them back with a thick lacquer type glue/putty?

The first time I used the double sided tape that came with them. The second time I mixed up two part epoxy glue and used that.

I was confident that the plastic parts would stay forever.

I guess forever isn’t quite as long as I thought it was going to be because they were gone in a week or so.

I have thought of mixing up some body filler, filling the voids then using that metallic ‘gold’ paint to paint them, then when dry and try to polish the smeg out of them but figure someone will pick that off too.

Damn hard to pick the paint off.
