Does anyone make a lower antenna whip for the HHR? Thanks

A stubby antenna as it's called? Sure. There's a whole lot of choices out there.

Just be carefull as you will most likely lose some reception with shorties or off brands.

Some of the stubbys are extendable & can offer better reception than just a stubby..

I have found that the Stock antenna is a noise maker. Some HHR's more then others for some reason. Just the way the wind hits each one.

If you don't believe me, take a drive and listen closely for a wind noise.
It's right above your head in the center.
When you find it, then remove the antenna and do the same drive.
It's totally gone.

I discovered it by accident one day when I went down to the water to park and eat a little bag lunch. There happen to be a 20--30mph wind blowing and I heard the noise pulsating up and down with the wind. It irritated me so much as I was trying to read some documents. I listened closer and it sounded like it was comming from the top of the car.
I got out and luckily was able to unscrew the antenna by hand. I got back in and the noise was totally gone. I did the same thing on one my other HHR's at the same location later on.
It's almost like a slight whistle noise. It is on all three HHR's to one degree or another but it starts at about 20-25mph and can get louder as you speed up. You have to be aware to notice it.
Once you do, it will bug you from then on as it is always there.

I didn't notice different sizes. Mine looks just like the one in the picture. Can't tell that there is any wind noise, I drove for about an hour last night with the radio off and didnt notice anything.

The length of the wire wrapped around the "antenna" is the important part, not the length of the "antenna". The wire is really the antenna and needs to be the correct wave length for the radio signal you want to receive. It helps to be higher in the air, but the length of the wire is really what counts, not the length of the whip.

Wind noise? I've never noticed any wind noise with the stock antenna. Any particular speed at which you are driving? Can you hear it with the windows up?

Usually it will start at approx 20-30 mph.
My first HHR 2011 1LT it was worst at approx 50-55mph.
Since I have had several HHR's there has only been 1 that did not have a noticeable wind noise.
The best way to confirm you have it is to park head into the wind when it is blowing at 25-35mph. Motor off, heater fan off, radio off.
That will isolate the antenna noise for you.
Also if you slightly change the car position from perfect head on to slightly off perfect, you might pick it up louder or quieter.

I this is not an issue for you then don't bother to mess with it.
In my first HHR it was like a constant Pain in the Ear......
Kinda like a gear Howl/Yowl.
