I finally got some white led lights to replace the amber ones for my licence plate. When i removed them I noticed one socket is vertical and the other is horizontal. I tried to twist the socket so both can be horizontal but it won't budge, and since my led bulbs are 180 degrees it won't illuminate the entire plate. So my question is are these sockets suppose to be in different directions? Or were they installed wrong from the factory?

 

What year is yours? I put LEDs there on my 2011 a few months ago and both sockets are vertical.
