Front licence plate bracket

Has anyone put the GM licence plate bracket on? According to the instructions you put this on with pop rivets. I was hoping to put this on with screws and nuts, but there is no room between the plastic fasica and steel rail of the front bumper.

Yep...I had the dealer do it. They have the tools and in my opinion, if your state requires a front plate they should have done it prior to delivery. I stopped by and they did it for me in a couple minutes. When mine did it, they put one of the cardboard dealer plates in there so they would get more free advertising.

if your state requires it the dealer usually puts it on when the new tags come in

Mine is tight enough that it doesn't rattle or hit against the rear hatch. However, I have seen in other posts that people are putting things like weatherstripping under the two lower corners to eliminate the rattle and possible paint damage.

Put a piece of Dynamat on the back of your plate and that will stop. My plate is solid as hell, no rattling or movement what so ever.

Mine came attached with 4 big (about #10) panhead screws. But I removed it and mounted my plate below the front bumper.

some plate covers are made poorly compared to others. I had a decent plate cover and it rattled everytime so I replaced it with a more solid plate cover and I dont get rattling at all. When I finally get my personalized plate from the dmv I plan on adding dynamat to the back of it as well. You might also want to get some rubber washers and place it between the body and plate to see if that fixes the rattling.

This isn't any different than most cars being made today, it only takes to screws/bolts to keep the plate attached in an upright fashion.
I've not noticed any rattling from my plate, maybe because I'm not using any frame around it........just a plexicover over it.

I'll attach my plate only after the fix-it ticket has been issued. I instructed my dealer NOT to put the plate mounts on.
