Is there a link to a how to remove chrome and or painted piece that houses the hatch release?

 

You have to remove the interior plastic trim panels, there are 2 button fasteners on the bottom, then the finger handle . The panel is held in with plastic push pins.
To remove the lift gate handle there are two fasteners on the outside, look up near the license lights, then there are 2 10mm nuts from the inside.
