Should I black out my HHR?

I'm trying to decide whether or not to "black out" my 2008 Sunburst orange HHR.
Also where would you recommend getting a spoiler and if you would what kind?

Sounds like a matter of personal preference to me.

I shall issue my input. I blacked mine out, and I do not regret it.

Also, LS HHR then since you are asking about a spoiler?

I vote no, it seems everyone has one option " black out" everything! We were at the coffee shop on Saturday and a gaggle of Euro sport bikes showed up , mostly Ducati's and Triumphs and all but 3 of 17 bikes were paints flat black! It shows no individuality or for my opinion imagination . No this is IMO.
So keep it clean and drive it often and follow your taste to express yourself!
Oh and Welcome!

to the forum!

Blacking out your ride is a personal choice, on some colors it really looks great in my opinion, on an orange HHR...ummm...maybe not so hot.

But with Plasti-Dip, you can experiment with the look and if you don't like it, just peel it off.

We have a whole Sub-Forum on that product, just click the link below...

See that's what I was thinking. That it might be not so hot and I didn't want to put a lot into it just to not like it a o I was wondering if anyone had already done it so I could see what it would look like

Yeah I really like the super sport spoiler but I'm having trouble finding it in the right orange.

You could probably order a small amount through your dealership or take it to their body shop and have them paint it for you. I don't know your level of savvy with a paint gun or rattle can, but I would rather have it professionally done.

Call around and ask how much it would cost, and decide from there. FWIW, I found a kit for $187.xx with all the needed items except an air compressor and paint gun....

I went the blacked out route and came back. It was fun for a little while but everyone here that said no pretty much hit the nail on the head...the individuality is taken out of. I got rid of almost all the black and tinted items on my HHR and I love the look now. I kept a few black things (grill and headlights) but everything else either went to color match my HHR or back to stock.

Just my opinion. I never did care for the blacked out look. Just like the 24" wheel look. I see both as just a fad (hopefully) I'm 55 though, and grew up and developed my taste in cars before this stuff became popular. My HHR is gray, and I did put black wheels on it, but the rim and center cap are polished aluminum. I tinted the windows, mostly because this is AZ, and the light/heat can become unbearable, not really for looks. Last thing I want to do is put running boards on it.
