Sunroof delete ?

Recently acquired a 2007 HHR LT. I have always been drawn to the HHR and glad I finally stumbled into one. But I do not like sunroofs and have not found a delete kit for the HHR. Does anyone know of one? Has anyone here removed their sunroof?

Welcome
If you don't want a sunroof, then you should have purchased a HHR that didn't have one. There were 100's of thousands of HHR's made. Many without sunroofs. Maybe look for one of those.

Welcome to the site, I have never seen a sunroof delete kit for the HHR, I suppose you could get a non sunroof roof panel and headliner from a parts yard and weld it into your HHR, or just close the sunroof and the sun panel, and enjoy the drive.

I too, just recently purchased an HHR with a sunroof. I rather like the sunroof. When I don't want the sunroof, I simply close the interior cover and it's gone! From the exterior, it is really difficult to notice visually except when it is flipped up to the vent position. I live in a comparatively mild climate area and the sunroof provides lots of flexibility for interior ventilation. If I were you, I would avoid the expense of a body shop sunroof deletion and just live with it.

I was just thinking, about back in the day , to eliminate the canvas roof in a Model A I would weld in a roof panel from a wrecked van , the ribs added strength. Now to fabricate and weld in a sunroof opening panel wouldn’t be to hard, an English wheel to contour the panel and then TIG weld it into place, if you’re careful shouldn’t cause the roof panel to warp. The cost for a body shop to do that wouldn’t be feasible.
the roof patch could be made from a donor HHR roof panel, save some labour.

I never heard of a sunroof delete kit for any car. What would a kit include? A roll of duct tape and a sheet of plastic?

Roll of double sided side molding tape? A TIG welder and a grinder?

Time to Rethink your Purchase......

In the meantime Reduce the Stress load while you look around with an open mind set.
Making the change would probably be cheaper then the Hassle to do a proper removal.
