window tint
FWIW: I used to think taillights that were made darker were cool. As I got a lil older I like to have the best lighting I can get.
Same on my Bikes, people can't see you with good lights.
Long ago back in Fla, I tinted my 85 S-10 w/Limo back & sides. At night I was making a bend coming home & I couldn't see, I rolled down the window & a elder lady & her dog were right there waiting to cross.
The Tint came off next day, I re-did it to legal limits.

Evidently, some people don't know just how scared a cop is when he approaches a stranger on the highway. They have reason to shoot if they can't see the occupants hands are empty.
Funny, whenever I have been pulled over my handicapped tags didn't make a bit of difference to anybody. The reason for my handicap is not listed on any document anywhere, neither is my resume. What they know is the owners of the car have no wants or warrants and the address I gave them when I registered the car (could be either me or my wife).
Tempt fate as much as you like. I was just trying to explain the rationale for the law. No need to debate facts.

Virginia has no place to tell them. The police do however act as tax collectors. They are informed that I have paid my car tax and paid to prove that II have. In Va we pay an anual car tax to the county then we pay the county to provide proof that we have paid. They also are informed if my annual inspection sticker is good or stolen.

ILL, if youre out of state and stopped for a violation they want it paid then and there, they will staple your check or whatever to the ticket and submit it themselves... I don't like that idea but like I said, some states are nuts.
Could be worse, I hear in Georgia they have to pay a one time ad-valorem tax based on vehicle value to get their tags.
Title Ad Valorem Tax (TAVT) Changes Effective January 1 ...
John- South Carolina collects a 5% state sales tax rate on the purchase of all vehicles. The maximum tax that can be charged is 300 dollars. In addition to taxes, car purchases in South Carolina may be subject to other fees like registration, title, and plate fees.
Blue- I thought we were having fun.
