window tint

I called and got an estimate from the shop that did my Fit. $100 to tint both front doors and a 5% brow. Im unsure which % will match the factory privacy tint on the rear windows? I know its not as dark as 5% and its darker than 20%... any ideas of the perfect match %?

Rears are 20% , your tint shop should be able to match it

Yeah... but who really abides to that? I had 5% on all windows on my neon, was nice during the day in bright sun.snow… but sucked at night... Also was a pita to back a truck at night in the country in the woods , but does help with the idiots behind you with brights on or those damn projector lights, I think some should be illegal as well.

If a cop pulls you over and shoots first don't be alarmed; if he can't see what you are doing he assumes you are reaching for a gun. That's the reason for the law.

LOL Bogus, half the standard factory tints you cant see in at night even spotlighted. Besides my drivers license is connected to my plates so when they are ran the officer already know all about me.

Police have no idea who might be in the car. It could be a car theif driving. Or worse.

The front windows don't have much tint, if any.
The cop's computer can tell what mood you are in on your way home from buying a illegal hand gun? Do you live in a Tom Cruise movie? (Minority Report)
I guarantee he will have unstrapped his holster and hand on the grip as he puts his thumb print on your tail light, if he can't clearly see your hands.

Fact is, the reason for the law is protection of law enforcement and the public from them, not some paranoid invasion of privacy B.S.
You can get a waiver for tinting darker front windows if you have Lupus and some other reasons.
BTW, you won't find a bigger supporter of the second amendment.

I can get a doctors waiver for darker tint because of glaucoma, but it’s not so great at night , so no tint for me.

Exactly this ! handicapped plates and DL. They have no reason to shoot unless you are driving like some wreckless ahole… When they run my plates it will alert them I am Deaf and have spinal injuries. No criminal history ( Firefighter/Police Officer Training ) and CCW. So unless the car was used in a crime, driving erratically or reported stolen they have no reason to be alarmed. I got a ton of friends in the police force ( HS, Family and friends of the family ) Its funny how so many are ill informed on the matter or just " scared"
I was pulled over and this is the story on that...

My wife had a Chevy Venture I bought her when our son was born. a little back story, I bought another house not too far from hers.
I went to Walmart one night, as I was loading to leave some dude came running out wearing a blue flannel and jeans ( yup, same exact clothes I had on ) shortly after a silver Chevy Venture comes speeding across the lot and intercepted this "runner"
Come to find out Walmart got robbed. So , I left and went to check on the house I bought as my tools were there on my way home, I left the lot at the opposite end of where the robbers fled.
Now, about 5 miles away, all the sudden that very van flew up on me and cut around be at a high rate of speed ( I was slowing to turn into the alley to my house ) when the cop hung the corner and glued to my azz end??? I was in my driveway, he got out, gun drawn, I rolled my window down, hands out and said I was deaf and he had the wrong vehicle, he got me out and did his thing ( that I was no threat ) and before he got to searching someone up on the road who seen what happened told the officer he got the wrong van as well... He was pissed that he didn't get the robbers, but I never felt threatened, never done anything wrong in the past. Its all how you present yourself... Do you have an attitude, are you jumpy? Do you have a criminal past? Everything plays a factor.
