American Dash Carbon Fiber Kit

American Dash Carbon Fiber Kit went on pretty easy, the fitment is within my reason, and the price wasn't too bad.
looks pretty good, maybe I would have liked a brighter red, but thats carbon fiber. Hope the wife likes it, as it was her idea. It might be a little too pimp for my tastes, we'll see. It does blend real nice with the fabric on the seats. I didn't end up using any of the door pieces, as they covered up the silver. I pretty muched ditched any pieces going over silver. I may remove the pieces over the radio, and just leave the waterfall. I love the pieces around the shifter and cup holders.

They take a few pieces from 2 diff. kits. Yes it's the one fifty one. Since I have a laser cutter at work, I spoke directly with the tech that makes the stuff, and he was able to go number by number off the schematic, to make sure that all parts fit the SS. its a few pieces form the 2006-08 kit, and a few pieces from the 09 kit.

The making process is pretty cool. the entire kit is cut from one piece of CF, so all of the threading pattern matches up. then is is slathered in about a 1/16"+ of a clear acrylic vinyl, then the edges are sanded and polished over. The carbon fiber is opaque, that is why I left it off the doors. In my SS the interior trim is either, red, silver, or black. All of the pieces on the dash go over the black orange peel ABS. All the door pieces go over the silver trim, so I took the long pieces and put them on the door sill instead.
Some cool options, is they send you all the extra watterfall peices, depending on what type of radio you have, and the kit comes with 3 diff. options for the shifter area, and change holder.

One piece that didn't come with the kit, that I will order seperately, is the piece to go around the turbo guage.

The kit comes with instructions and a checked and dated schematic, some alcahol wipes, and acetone in smelling salt style crush vials; as a adheasion promoter.... You will need more of these, unless you map out where everthing is giong and apply it all at once. Another good idea is to let these babies sit out in the sun for at least a half hour. this is crucial! Most dash kit complaints come from one of two angles, and is installer error, not bad product. One, stiff CF will stay stiff, and not adheare to the slight curves on certain dash parts. Leaving this in the sun for a while, has a nice effect of limping the CF and allows some streching during application.(years ago we put a CF hood on a buddies car, and used a heat gun to get it to sit properly when closed) The second issue is not necessarlly surface prep more than it is... keeping your fingers off the 3M glue! Oils and adheasive don't mix, and have the effect of leaching the surrounding foam layer, which dries it out. The 3m stuff is the same that holds our SS emblems, so as long as you keep fingers clean you should be good. I mean my emblams are still there, after three years of washing, so... and they are on the outside, although I hope it never gets so hot outside that I open the door and my dash is on the floorboard, like a Dali painting

Oh The wife digs it, and I must say when the sun hits it sure is shiny the red really pops!

Oh if anybody wants the left overs PM me. there is two or three waterfall pieces, and the window switch overlays. ten pieces I think. just send me the shipping, or I can mail each piece to a few people, to see it before you buy.

The pics do not do justice to that red CF! In the sun it literally glows red in 3D!

Your kit is much more complete than the one I purchased over a year ago.

I get compliments on the interior every where it goes!
