I just roll down the window and use the item below to warm up the outside mirrors. Works great!

Like some of my bright ideas, it could still be in the long range planning stages.. Steve is this mission still a go or did you have to abort?

I just purchased a set of 1 1/4" x 2 1/2" automatic LED closet/drawer lights here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...E:L:OC:US:1123

I'll have to see how the magnet can be attached. Hypothetically, I'm thinking that I can affix the magnet to the roof/headliner, and when the visor is lowered, the closet light will automatically turn on. How it all looks will depend on how thick the light is (unknown).

Anyway...it's an idea, and I'll let you know how it turns out!

Steve
I have seen those and also a turn signal in mirror retrofit for us.

It should be an easy add-on. As stated here, the power is already there. I used it to add a light to my roof section. It may be there only with sunroof HHRs, but mine has it and the 12v is always present. All you would have to do is find a set of visors that will closely interchange. I would suspect that some member of the GM family would work fine. Maybe a Cobalt? The switch to turn them off is built into the flap of the visor.

Woops! Didn't realize this was an old thread revisited and quoted myself. Oh well, still stands. :)

I may be way off base but my bet is there are no vanity mirror lights has to do with the sliding visors which is cool. My brides m320 mercedes has the same sliding visor and her mirror lights come on from above the visor in the ceiling. But I am with everyone else on the heated mirrors, if i can get heated seats i should be able to get heated mirrors just charge me more.
