HHR/Cobalt interior panel interchange

So, I've noticed that the cobalts have small cubby hole just to the left of the sterring wheel, by the drivers left knee, kinda like a small glove box. I haven't had the two panels(HHR and Cobalt) next to each other to really look, but it would appear as though they would swap over just fine. Has anyone else looked into this farther, or actually swapped it?

Well, "maybe" is the best answer I can come up with. Even though the Cobalt and HHR were cousins on GM's Delta Platform, and a good many parts are shared, I think the instrument panels are not too easy to play "Mix 'N Match" with.

See the diagrams below, Cobalt on top, HHR on bottom...

That little cubbyhole on the Cobalts might be handy, but it seems like you'd have to get creative and chop some things up.

Hmm... Looks like the Cobalt might be angled more than the HHR. I have someone I might be able to get the cobalt piece from. I'll have to give it a shot and let you guys know.

If you can parts cheaply, give it a try, and take lots of pics.

Not an ashtray, just a little pull down cubby. Like a mini glove box. It's actually about the perfect size for a cell phone or wallet. Although I suppose you could use it as an ashtray if you really wanted too...

If you can pull of this mod Frenchy, remember, lots of pics. When I've had a Cobalt over the years as a rental, that little cubbyhole was a great place to stash a cell phone etc.

The dash top storage compartment works great unless your wife uses one of the HHR's for her antiques business, then that bin fills up with Google Maps printouts, receipts, notes, and anything else she can cram in there.

Last week I made the mistake of popping the latch on the 2011's bin, picture an explosion of paperwork/assorted crap, looked like a ticker tape parade.

2010 cobalt at the junk yard had identical power window switch and 2 bolt cover. Similar door lock and handle (same exact location) with the manual door lock in the exact dame spot.

going try and swap them as they still have a HHR (they crushed 3/4
