making a bed to sleep in - what's the comfiest?

really, i just need something to throw down to sleep on. doesn't need to be anything special.

just really comfy

I have a blanket I folded over 4 times and it's still not thick enough.

I am wondering what my options are.

just get 10 blankets (or comfortors, rather?)

any help appreciated!

BTW I only sleep in the car if I have to work early the next day and can't make the trip back to my house in time to shower and sleep (2 hours drive each way)

BTW, 2010 HHR LT

You could also get a matress foam pad topper for the back of the car. The downside is that they are rather pricey.

In 2006 I had used one like this, a tri-fold exercise mat on my 7,400 mile trek across the USA. (California to the southern tip of Florida, Chicago and criss-crossed my way back to California)
It's thick, fits perfect and folds up nice.

I only wanted to use the side with the middle seat though, since its just me.

I also need it foldable so in can transport 4 other people if needed

Ive had a buddy put an uninflated air mattress in a pontiac Vibe and unroll it out and then inflate it...seems to me it would only work better in the HHR

In this case, there are two problems:
1. An inflatable mattress bad keeps the air in most cases. It is unpleasant to lose sleep over the fact that your ass and your elbows rest on a solid (sometimes cold) floor.
2. Sleep together into a hellish amusement. The air mattress is very sensitive to any movement. If your partner turn over to the other side - mattress throw you up, and when you fall back your partner will receive their portion of air waves. Instead of sleep you have insoluble problem: leave this stupid wench in bed to warmth or excommunicate it out of the car so as not to interfere with sleep.
In addition, only a mattress for swimming is little suitable. Inflatable beds are too high, it is difficult to climb, it's hard to sleep in a small space between the mattress and the ceiling of HHR.

A twin sized air mattress fits just fine in my HHR. My wife and I have slept in the car when we go to Tennessee to visit her sister. Its a hellofa long trip from here.

So far the air mat does not leak. I suppose when it does I'll have to pay the $17.00 for a new one at Wally's.

I've also tried this with my HHR and it is indeed a doable solution. I bought a spare air mattress, though, in case it starts leaking and I'm in the middle of nowhere.
