Question Owners, without a Sunroof, Front Dome Lite

I am asking for HHR owners without a sunroof and a Round (older style) Dome Light up front for some pics of it's location and a few measurements please.

My '08 Panel only has the Round Dome Light in the rear, none up front. (I know, WTF was GM thinking!)

I have one on the way and want to install it while I have my headiner out of my Panel so I would like some pics and some measurements so I can install it as close to an oem one as I can.

Thanks for any help guys / gals.

I have a 2007 LS and mine does not have a front dome light.
The only interior lights up front are located in the rear view mirror.
They light up whenever you open the doors and are also considered map lights.

I understand that, I know the '09's have Both (2) a Front and a Rear overhead dome lights. (I can't remember if they were the older Round style or the newer kinda Oval shape tho.) Don't really matter tho, I just want the Location of the HHR's with Front dome lights. Without a sunroof.

I bought a used Round one that Matches my rear dome light in my '08 Panel and will be Adding it in the Front, so I will then have 2 dome lights, a Front one and the original rear one.

Some people have loosened the glued wire on their rear dome light and turned it around to help light up the front area better but I would rather add a second light over the front seating area and keep my rear one as is.

I am looking for a pic or two of the Front dome lights location and maybe some measurements for reference so I can install my new one in about the same location as oem. I have my headliner out so Now is the time to add it.

I won't have it in hand for a few days, but I want to be ready to cut the holes location and wire it into the loom and get the headliner back in asap so I can start putting interior panels back in place.

I have my interior gutted and adding sound barrier. And running my Audio & Video cables and wiring under the carpet as needed.

(Work in Progress currently.)

I don't know if this will help much, but here's how they look in a 2011 non panel. The front of the dome light is 24 inches from top edge of the windshield.

Yes, Yes it does. Exactly what I was looking for.

Thank you very much.

Wow I see they now have 3 Dome lights.

In my '08 Panel there is just the middle one and then the Map Lights on the bottom of the rear view mirror.

It is Round, half is just a light, then the other half is split in two and you can Push the lens to light them up by the rear seat passengers.

Again Thanks alot.

It seems every year they did some goofy a**ed stuff to the HHR's.

The '08's have the darn power window buttons in the center console in front of the shifter. WTF was that for? Save 3 feet of wire or something????

GM = IDIOTS at times I tell ya.

Massive amounts of OEM Sound Deadener used on the Roof as you can clearly See here. Oh and a 1/4 inch on either side is Just the Aluminum foil, I cut that off before I started applying mine, and the stuff I bought is at least 3X's Thicker.

Started adding the sound barrier up there. Working on it now, just came in to cool off a minute or two. I will be covering 90% or so of the roof.

A&P- Nice job on the sound proofing..

I have the single round dome light, 2008.. I just spun it around, & added LEDs' ....

More than enuff light.. I don't need 3 lights..

edit: I'll have to check, but my light looks closer to the front, than yours...
