GM Powertrain - September 13th Head Count

Okay, we're a little under a month out from GM Powertrain, so let's get a head count going for WNYHHR. I haven't gotten my show entry sent yet, but I plan on attending and showing. I'm guessing that Brian (BlackHHR06) probably wouldn't miss it, either - Keith, if you know any different, let me know.

Anyone else? :thumb:

the_shmoo 08-17-2008 08:59 PM

Don just received from BlackHHR06. Sent you an e-mail

Brian is registered, #1
Also he was talking with Chuck & Lee the red HHR with the 57 Chevy stripe on it. They are also registered.
Plus there was a red panel that is thinking about showing as well.

Docwylie 08-17-2008 09:43 PM

I haven't sent in my registration form yet, but I'm planning to attend... assuming my car is repaired and ready by then.

fastsuv 08-18-2008 06:46 AM

I sent my registration a couple of weeks ago and I'm planning to attend the show.

Steve

Docwylie 08-18-2008 07:59 AM

Just wondering... are we "1990-Present - Stock" or "1990-Present - Modified"?

diskullman 08-18-2008 10:35 AM

Where is this being held? Any links to a website would be appreciated.

Desert Coyote 08-18-2008 04:16 PM

The closest we have to a site for it is below:

http://gmpowertrain.ca/forum/index.php?topic=185.0

There's a message from a GMPT worker about the show festivities, including the "gala" event on Friday 9/12 -- don't be fooled, it's not as cool as it sounds, it's a $100/plate charity dinner. The highlight is by far the actual show, which is a GM-power-only show.

Don Battista 08-21-2008 11:35 AM

GM Plant get together

Desert Coyote
Linda and I will be attending.:thumb:
I need to mail in my application.
Don

Docwylie 08-21-2008 04:44 PM

Again....I don't remember from last year and it's needed for the form...as I recall we were in the "Stock" category even with the mods we've all done to our rides. Is that correct?

Desert Coyote 08-22-2008 08:59 AM

That's correct, Tom.

bigallis1 08-22-2008 11:43 AM

Hi all. I am planning on attending but have not sent the form in yet.

Don Battista 08-22-2008 03:08 PM

banditt90 08-25-2008 01:31 PM

I'll be there, just sent in the form

Desert Coyote 08-25-2008 02:35 PM

Okay, my entry form is in the mail as of about 30 minutes ago, so the current head count is as follows:

Desert Coyote
bigallis1
Don Battista
BlackHHR06
banditt90 (glad you could make the show this year! :thumb:)
fastsuv
Docwylie (body shop permitting)
Chuck & Lee (red HHR '57 striping)

Hope we'll have as much fun this year (and take as much of a haul away) as last year! :thumb:

Docwylie 08-25-2008 06:45 PM

Got my car back from the shop good as new. As long as I don't crash it before the 13th I'll be there!

enri9267 08-26-2008 07:25 AM

Ok, I've been out of the loop over the summer. Are you folks getting into the show and where is it. Saturdays work for me as far as doing anything and would like to get in on it.

Docwylie 08-26-2008 08:19 AM

I have a free-standing 12 x 12 canopy that I'll bring along for us to set up behind our row of cars as our club HQS.

Jeda13 08-26-2008 09:26 AM

I'm out, sorry. gotta gig in Olean. Bummer, too. 9/13 is my birthday, this would have been fun.

Dave, yes, we're entering the show. IIRC, I think I gave you an entry blank in Gettysburg, if not let me know and I'll zip one over to you ... some way. Anyway, the early entry deadline is September 5th (entry fee $12), but entry is available at the door at $15. (They also give you the option of parking by us without showing if you're obviously with the group - Keith did that last year) The show is at GM Powertrain in Tonawanda on Sept. 13th.

Also, by Tom's suggestion, let's try to coordinate our efforts a bit better this year with an earlier meeting time to drive over. I'm thinking same meeting place as last year (K&S Performance, River Road & Two Mile Creek in Tonawanda) at around 8:30am or so? Sound good for everyone?

the_shmoo 08-26-2008 05:18 PM

Doing my best to be there, I will register at the event to show this time.
Fingers crossed, count me as a maybe. Thanks Don Battista for the entry form.

Dave, I sent you a PM yesterday..

enri9267 08-28-2008 07:43 AM

DIdn't get it. Email me at dave@enrightpc.com. Count me in on this, wife has a shower to help with.

Desert Coyote 08-28-2008 09:54 AM

E-mail is sent, Dave. Print the message and mail it to Donna with your check.

BTW, I mentioned this in the message, but does anyone else know if Dave's panel would qualify as a commercial truck or not (because of the wrapped signage)?

I'd say to check with Tri-Five (either Cal or Donna Oun) on that question for a definitive ruling. Their number should be on the registration form.

Didn't get it. Mail server was having problems, could you send it again?

Desert Coyote 08-29-2008 11:38 AM

I'm sending it right now.

Docwylie 09-08-2008 08:08 AM

I realize the weekend is still five days away, but the weather forecast for Saturday is calling for thunderstorms. This does not bode well for a car show.

the_shmoo 09-08-2008 12:04 PM

Wait 5 mins it will change.

the_shmoo 09-08-2008 09:26 PM

Just contacted Brian and here are the plans for Saturdays show.

Meeting time : 9:30 AM (we'll hang in there for about 15 minutes) we will only be 10 minutes North of the show field.
Location : K-S Speed Shop on Niagara St. Tonawanda, NY 14150

Anyone willing to give out there cell number so that if anyone is running late or gets lost can call in ? Post here in a way so that only those going can drop you a P/M to get it before hand.

Actually the rendezvous time at K-S is 8:30 AM (see post #20). The idea is to get on the field early to secure a good location.

the_shmoo 09-08-2008 11:15 PM

Thanx. will check with Brian or Don.

As I recall, we decided on 8:30 because it would be earlier than last year, that way we get primo placement on the lawn. (not like last year's placement was too shabby, but hey, y'never know.) :thumb:

fastsuv 09-09-2008 11:02 AM

OK, I'll be at K&S at 8:30AM on Saturday. My HHR is still in the shop being repaired for the hail damage. I'm scheduled to pick it up on Thursday, which gives me a whole day  of leeway if something isn't ready.

Steve

fastsuv 09-10-2008 08:12 AM

BTW, what happened to the plant tours that were going to happen?

Can't wait for Saturday.
Desert Coyote
Do you have an updated list on who will be ( HHR'S ) attending Saturday?
Don
