I just talked to Don Battista this morning (thanks for calling me at the store!), and from what he tells me the president of the PT Cruisers club asked him and Brian to get "as many HHR's as possible" to the Cruz, and was open to the idea of linking the two clubs together (kind of a "Retro Alliance."). Any thoughts?

Current head count

As of this morning (Sunday 6/15), here is the current head count for our Cruz Crash:

Desert Coyote
BlackHHR06/WnyHHR06 (Brian)
Don Battista
banditt90
fastsuv
NY HHR (in his PT, will probably already be there)
minttbird (maybe)

The plan is as follows: meet at the Niagara Falls Outlet Mall (1900 Military Rd) at 9am, and from there caravan up to Lewiston. IF YOU CHOOSE TO SHOW: Day-of registration fee is $25 - recommend cash.

At our meeting place, I'll have entry forms for both GM Powertrain's show (September 13) and the South Buffalo Seneca Street show (August 10).

I'll keep updating as we get closer to Saturday.

As long as we are welcome and the Chrysler group is not going to get annoyed I would be into this. Thats if there is no rain.

COOL!!!

Nice to see the two retro groups getting along!

There was a huge PT Cruiser show last summer here in St. Louis called Meet Me In St. Louis.

HHRs were invited but we only had 3 show up.

I do know that there were quite a few PT owners that were very interested and checking out the HHRs that showed up. Even HHR / PT Boutique was there as a vendor and had parts for both the HHRs and PTs.

Maybe you should have the let the vendos know there will be a group of HHRs showing up so they can bring both PT and HHR parts and accessories.

Well, I just went outside to my HHR in the parking lot here at work (near the Boulevard Mall). There was a hail storm with golf-ball sized hail a few minutes ago. The hood has about a dozen dents. The roof has only a few.

I did want to get a hood scoop, so now maybe I can get a hood with a scoop built into it!

Sorry to hear about the damage to your car, Steve...but it sounds like you haver a positive attitude about the possible repair. The storm produced 1/4" hail in Niagara Falls. I scrambled to get it under some well-leafed tree branches to prevent damage but the hailstones never got big enough to cause any trouble.
