Stitch II wins his first show trophy!
Okay, so yesterday didn't got exactly as I'd planned - I had to work. But I was still able to show Stitch II at the Seneca Street show since it was only five blocks away from my store. So, I brought my bike with me, shined up the car a bit, then rode to my store, leaving my wife to tend to the car while I was working the most useless shift of my life (the sales didn't even make enough profit to pay my wage).
As anyone in the Buffalo area knows, yesterday was cold and rainy. The show went on despite the heavy thunderstorms and the West Seneca flash flood warning, and I found myself with only four other cars in my class (a Neon, a rustbucket Cavalier and two Tauruses, one of which was decal'ed up to look like Rusty Wallace). On top of that, on the return trip to my car after work, my bike blew its rear tire, so I had to walk the bike back in a downpour. From what my wife tells me, in spite of all the work she did to clean up Stitch II's engine, the rain forced her to close the hood just a half-hour into the show. (I still have three soggy Stitch plushies in my car I need to dry out)
Anyway, today I have to work, I'm nursing a newborn warm-weather cold ...
... oh yeah, and I have a 12-inch green trophy to show for our efforts.
Pictures will be forthcoming when the weather gets better, but I'm bringing it with to GM Powertrain!
