Sounds like a blast!
Where was the whale watch?
I went on one out of Gloucester about 15 years ago with oceanography class.
Not a bust, we saw over 35 different whales.
I took 2 rolls of film but was new to the camera.
I loaded it wrong so only got 1½ good pix

They have a daily run at 0830 and 1300 for 3 1/2 hrs.....they hadn't been out for 3 days because of rough seas,,, but just prior saw a pod of 150 pilots..but they moved on....did see some seals and remote light houses though! It was a bit rough because of temps,, around 35f ....Boat was the Atlantic Cat.. 4 eng turbine jet propelled catamaran type ( twin hull) ..nice ride and fairly fast..30+knts 3 decks, a buttload of people. $8 mil boat.

Bah habaaa

Hey, we went to Bar Harbor the 1st week of August. I put 2600 miles on my HHR, got about the same mileage too. Drove from West Virginia to Bar Harbor. I took a wrong turn in New York, got in the GW bridge traffic, on a Sunday, terrible. Went around that on trip home, much better trip.
How long are the tickets good for, we made the trip out and got great pic's of the whales,(Humpbacks) we had to wait for a good day due to the rough sea's, and made the trip to Acadia, and Cadillac mountain, was more than worth the trip. We ate in the Rt66 Restaurant in Bar Harbour, along with breakfast at Jeannies, and Lunch at Rupununi's (outside cafe). Enjoyed the walk through town, and do plan to go back. We ate at a place in Belfast, but won't recommend that place to anyone. I don't like sea food, but the wife does, until she ate there, says not really what she expected. So we didn't eat seafood much after that. They do say the Lobster pounds are the best places to go for seafood. I have pics of the trip, but haven't had time to post yet, the NE was a fun trip, we stopped at several places on our week long trip up and back. You have to go to Maine for a road trip if you get the chance, it was really beautiful, but I don't think I want to go in the winter months, getting too old for the cold, and from what I saw up there, it's cold way to long for me to go any other time but summer.
I highly recommend this trip.
