This looks pretty cool! I'll see if any of the WNY HHR's are interested. It's close enough to Buffalo and Rochester for a day trip.

Last time I was at the Glen, Mark Donohue was running a Camaro for Roger Penske!

Man - I'll bet we were standing next to each other and didn't even know it! Donohue, Peter Revson, Bob Tulio, Fred Lorenzo, George Folmer, etc. Fun times...

I did this a few years back in my 87 Fiero.

One of the nice professional photos of the car and me running.

A group of Fieros usually make the trip for the chance to run the track. I'll be up in the area with the HHR earlier in April, but will be back in Florida by the 21st and 22nd.

I believe it was either 1968 or 1969. I don't think it was later. At the time my daily drive was an Austin Healy Sprite! Wish I still had that little car... two- seater with standard, doors the size of cookie sheets, rag top with cloudy plastic window... ran like crap, but it was sure fun when it DID run!

Holy Wheat Doc - Back in '69 I too had a Bug-Eye Sprite. Believe it was a 1960. One of my favorite moments was to go parking in it. Managed to pull the pass. seat back down and slide in the back with my girl. Nothing happened because there was no room back there, but we both thought it was a great accomplishment to even attempt it. Fun car! Traded it in for a '65 Mustang convertible. Wish I had them both today!

PS -The side windows were plastic slide-ups weren't they?

I wasn't fortunate to own a bug-eye. Mine was the later model ('68)which was almost identical to the MG Midget.. but to me at the time it was as great a sportscar as if it was a Maseratti! The side windows were actually glass that rolled up and down, but the windows on the ragtop were thick clear vinyl. I know what you mean about the cramped quarters for "extracurricular activities", but once my girlfriend and I did manage to accomplish the feat if only to be able to say we did!
