That looks amazing, I can't wait to see it on the car. Please explain the details of what you did, types of paint, process, etc. when you get a chance.

Very nice indeed. It's hard to tell but can you still see the chrome through the black (so does it look like black chrome)? The Red looks really sharp. Great job and can't wait to see a pic installed!

The black is actually a high gloss so you get a reflection from the overhead lights. Can't see the chrome through the black. The red however, well, it's nice and chrome shiny. I will have to wait until first light to get it back on.. but figured I'd give a small preview of some other stuff to come..

As for details:
Duplicolor high gloss enamel, Duplicolor Metalcast Anodizer, and Duplicolor adhesion promoter. Quick two coats of the adhesion promoter (do not need alot of this stuff. Just enough to cover), then three coats of anodizer. Then I taped off the areas I wanted the red chrome and three coats of the black. Cured for 24 hours in 72 degree basement, then waxed like hell.

Lessons learned: Anodizer does not go on like other paints. It is THIN. I have a few spots here and there where it is darker because I painted on a slight incline and it collected on high spots. I'll know what to do next time though. I would use 5-6 VERY light coats instead of the 3 coats I did. If you hold the anodizer too far away it sprays very light and very dry, almost splatter patterned and loses some of the shine. I finally got the hang of it for the third coat.
