this is the most effort ive seen yet in soundproofing an hhr.
What is the material you put over the dynamat? Closed cell foam or butyl rubber?

Yes - this is closed cell foam

looks great! I'm in the middle of the same type of project but I'm trying to leave my storage compartments open and reuse the same grills over the doors since the HHR is my DD.

Thanks guys for your positive responses :) Andy - and what's with your project? How it finally worked?

I'm also proud to share with you a little novelty - after a great deal of innovations introduced within 2012 year, this HHR earned a Vice Master of Europe achievement in Sound Quality Level Competition (by EASCA). I also took part in a photoshoot, which is about to be published at our national tuning "GT" magazine in 2013. Tommorow I'll post next pictures.
