Now I just gotta decide on the 7's or 9's.

With no windows on the Panels, won't be blocking much view for the Driver as you can only use your Mirrors anyways. lol

I plan on adding a backup camera once I get a head unit.

Which back up system did you get? Just got a 7/8" camera, 120-degree "Reversed" view...so it looks the same as looking in the mirror. Got it on E-bay for roughly $26. This one has been wet several times and no issues. And the night-vision is awesome. CLICK TO SEE IT

I may just order up the Pioneer 4200 from Crutchfield and get the Extras they include and they are an Authorized Pioneer Dealer for Warranty work through Pioneer. Got my Pioneer from these guys and it has a 1-year warranty CLICK HERE TO SEE IT

Did the Pioneer install in the HHR easily enough? Called and talked to Metra about the harness. My GMRC-LAN-03 harness for non-Onstar and non-factory-installed-Pioneer setup works great and keeps chimes and RAP feature CLICK HERE TO SEE

Used a Scosche install kit. Because the face tilts, you will need ot trim the inside of the install kit at the top so the radio face doesn't make contact. No big deal and you can't tell once installed. See pic below.

Crutchfield did not list it as fitting my HHR?

Thanks again for your reply. That seller has so many setups to choose from all at fair prices too, makes it hard to decide. I may opt Not to get the Games, but the ear phones are a must, so I can still listen to music while driving
True, the 4200 will allow the rear monitors to get their source from the disc drive while you use the tuner, SD or USB for the front. The rear monitors will require headphones of some sort to hear theirs in this case..
Again, hope this is useful info.

Thanks, more Great info and Help!

Once I get the Pioneer 4200, (Crutchfield is Out of stock.) I will be asking you more Questions, I hope you don't mind.

I did buy the 9" Headrests with the 2 remotes, 2 game controllers (27 games installed, Not the greatest of games at all, but controllers hook up by a USB port in front and my 19 year old Son thinks he can do something with either the USB or the controllers and games. ) and 2 IR Headphones.

Same unit without the game controllers, was only 1 buck less, so I grabbed them after my Son said he could maybe add games, swap files or something, so for a buck I will let him mess with one of the controllers and see what he can come up with.

Heres the 9 inch setup pic of what I bought tonight.

Thanks to your posting about these units.

Did you buy just that camera or was anything else needed for the install? (besides the 4200 of course. lol) And were did you install the Camera at on your HHR?

Pioneer is pretty point blank about NOT having a warranty unless they are an Authorized Pioneer Dealer, and state NO ebay seller is covered by their warrenty.

I have Pioneer Elite stuff setup in my livingroom for my home theater and most of my car stuff has been Pioneer over the years. Never needed the Warranty but these 4200 could be costly to fix.

I have ON STAR so I will Need that Extra Gizmo, Crutchfield gives you 50% off of it at time of head unit purchase so theirs is only about 10 bucks more that that unit.

Why does the Pioneer system need a Different one?

OH, Crutchfield DOES list it as a FIT, not sure why I Missed that.

Is that cover needed for the HHR?

Crutch does Not mention needing it?

Again, THANKS for your Help and Good info.

OK so Early this morning I go and check one of my email accounts, and I see an email from Amazon, with the Heading of- "Amazon.com: 30% Off Select Pioneer Car A/V‏"

Well needless to say that sparked an Interest.

I open it and it says -

Dear Amazon.com Customer,

As someone who has shopped for Pioneer car audio and video at Amazon.com, you might be interested in saving 30% on select products. Simply choose at least one product from almost 100 qualifying Pioneer items, enter code ******** at checkout, and your order will automatically be discounted an additional 30%.

Applies only to products sold by Amazon.com; does not apply to items sold by other merchants on the Amazon.com website. Offer good through July 31, while supplies last. See terms and conditions.

I click the link that says "See all qualifying Pioneer Car Audio and Video"
And one of the First things on the list is the AVH-P4200DVD unit I have been looking at.

Amazon IS a Listed online seller for Pioneer too!

Amazon has it at $495.00, like most others. I add it to my cart and add the "CODE" for the 30% and it brings it down to the expected $346.50.

Now I am still on the Fence after buying the 9" headrest Monitors just last night.
So I go back from the "checkout" screen (I was 1 click away from buying) and relook at it's description page and it has the Buy this and this with this for This amount, so I look over the 2 other items one is the ipod cord and one is the Remote, so I am thinking to myself, gonna need/want the remote and Add it to my cart, now I go back to my cart and am about to Reenter my "CODE" and its already there, Except now there are TWO(2) Discounts Applied!

Shipping Details : (order will arrive in 1 shipment)

Thanks to your posting about these units.

Did you buy just that camera or was anything else needed for the install? (besides the 4200 of course. lol) And were did you install the Camera at on your HHR? For the camera you will need a RCA video cable (the yellow one) to reach from the front of the car to the back. Some cameras have it included...some don't. I wired mine to a relay so it is only has power when the radio is actually on. If you look in my photos, I have it mounted to the right of my tag. It is somewhat protected by the overhang. I just ran the wire thru the flexible grommet at the top with the other wires.

I have never had a warranty claim either...but they sent me a printed statement that they will replace it for a full year.

I have ON STAR so I will Need that Extra Gizmo, Crutchfield gives you 50% off of it at time of head unit purchase so theirs is only about 10 bucks more that that unit.

Why does the Pioneer system need a Different one? Something about the factory installed amp. Mine didn't have that, so no big deal.

OH, Crutchfield DOES list it as a FIT, not sure why I Missed that.

Is that cover needed for the HHR? If you are talking about the dash kit, you will need it. Above and below the radio, the dash trim is actually curved. I didn't even notice until I pulled it out.

Crutch does Not mention needing it?

Again, THANKS for your Help and Good info.

And ask all the questions you want. Just happy to have useful information.
