New picks after lowering....
#3
I just took the Progress spring off of Harvey. Bottom out over smallest rock. I took them off for safty reasons. The people at Progress said they are going to come out with an up date but I don't think I want anything to do with it. I hope your happy with Gold Line. Let us know if you REALLY like the ride.
See ya down the road.

Bud,
I'm surprised it took you so long to take the Progress springs out of Harvey. I think we installed one of the first set from the original sets of springs that SoCal HHRs got. We install them in the wifes HHR on Sunday afternoon and by Monday night after work the stock springs were back in car. The front springs seemed to be Ok, hard to tell since we took them out so quickly. The rear springs were obvious incorrect for the application, the Progress Springs were a progressivly wound coil, the tightly wound coils or the ones that are close together were so soft that I could compress the bottom four coils with my bare hands and actually make the coils touch each other. When they were in the car the bottom 4 1/2 to 5 coils were touching each other and binding. My wife said that the HHR rode like an old mini truck from the late 70's early 80's it rode so bad. I spoke to the guys at Progress they said there was nothing wrong with the spring until I sent them a photos of the rear spring at ride height and then they said they were going to look in to it, never heard back from them. We now have newer Goldline Springs, we knew that they were not going to lower car as much as the previous GL but we did not want it really low. We like the slightly raked look over the level look, gives it more of the old school rod look. Rides a little stiffer, but it does not bottom out.
