07 Chevy HHR won't crank not even A click.
HHr won't crank.
New starter alternator 12.28 at remote. post 12.28 at starter Everything working called dealer reacal fix has been done was starting then no crank it will go days or weeks starting fine sometimes stalls then restarts sometimes it won't can ark starter with screwdriver and will start but sometimes a battery and jumper cables on starter make it start it snapps out of not starting until the next no crank happens again
12.28 is a dead battery, should be 12.6-12.7. New starter and alternator before or after this started? Why were they replaced? Have you tried tightening the 4 bolts in the under hood fuse box? Have you checked for continuity between the starter and alternator? Checked for voltage at the starter? Checked for voltage at the alternator? Checked battery connections?
If you “ moved” the fuse box, you need to recheck your connections there. AND, make sure all the fuse and relays are well seated.
Lastly. Tighten up the inner fuse box bolts. Really tight or as Donbrew says Gorilla tight. Lose fuse box bolts have been a known HHR problem.

There should be 2 large red wires connected to the front lug on the fuse box and 1 smaller wire on the lug closest to the firewall.
The best way to check the bolts is to loosen them, then retighten very tightly (past afraid to strip them). If you removed it you need to hear and feel clicks.
There is no ground wire behind the fuse box. The lug closest to the firewall is power for the power steering.
Check the voltage at the alternator. Some have a fusible link between the starter and alternator (that would show as a bad alternator).
