2007 Chevy HHR LT - Code Reader Won't Work

I have tried a few times to use my code reader on my HER. It never will turn on properly. It worked fine on my 2009 Dodge Charger. And works on other automobiles. Any ideas the problem? It isn't even a year old.

The Cigarette lighter fuse also powers the OBD port (where you plug your code reader in)
Check fuse #29 in the passenger compartment fuse panel.

Oh that's hilarious. I recently replaced the fuse in my cigarette lighter because my phone charger wasn't working. I haven't tried the code reader since I replaced the fuse. 😆😆😆

The reason it blows is that it is an auxiliary 12 volt outlet NOT a cigarette lighter (unless the car came with a "Smoker's Package"). If you stick a cig lighter element in A) it won't stay in and B) will short the fuse.

I'm not sticking a lighter in it. it was already blown when I bought the car. I tested the code reader earlier today and it works just fine. 🙌🙌🙌

I don't think I implied that YOU stuck a lighter in it.
