2008 ac intermittent

My AC has always been great blows COLD recently I’m experiencing interment issues where after about 10 min of driving (from cold motor) I get warm air if I park it for a wile I’ll get cold air again (for less time 2-5 min) I’m wondering if the radiator fan isn’t coming on and the system is over pressurizing causing the pressure switch to turn off the system. Is the radiator fan supposed to run constantly whenever the AC is turned on or does it cycle ?

If you have P0128 WHEN THE ac IS NOT WORKING you need to replace your t-stat with ACDelco 131-158 ONLY..

LS/LT the fan should run whenever the compressor is running. If the compressor is turning off, the cooling fan may turn off.

Not sure about SS, it has different rules for the cooling fan. Pulse Width Modulated.

Which trim level is your HHR?

My SS a/c would quite intermittently when the refrigerant got low due to a tiny leak in the compressor. The light on the a/c switch would go out when the a/c quit. Sometimes pushing the button would turn it back on, sometimes not. It quit with increasing frequency until some refrigerant was added. That fix lasted a couple years. Then the a/c quit again, but the light on the button stayed on. See.s to have been the clutch. Got the compressor replaced, works fine now.
