Does the HHR SS have Mobil 1 already in it from the factory ? Mine does not say on it anywhere that I can see just says 5w-30w. Any help on this one pls !

 

Good question. I did little or no research before I bought and asked the salesman just before the purchase if the SS came thru with synthetic and his reply was "no". However based on some posts that I've been seeing it seems he might be wrong.

 

Everything I have read from reviews to service manuals has stated that the SS comes from the factory with Mobil1.

Look on the oil cap. You have to lean over the engine to see it, but it's there. Here's a picture:

 

Mine don't have that Mobil 1 cap, what's that mean reg oil ?

 

Anything is possible, but I doubt it. If you have an SS, than it came with Mobil 1 5w-30 from the factory.

 

it shouldn't but then again the assembly line workers there have made mistakes before, as in building my SS with the ground effects on the RS & the
running board on the LS of the vehicle. Also the SS & chicket badges on the LS were installed crooked, I am very happy that I got the correct engine in the SS, or did I???????????????
They probably ran out of the correct oil cap, or just installed the wrong one!!! Overall, I am happy with the build on my vehicle, with the exception of what I mentioned and the squeak that has developed recently. And the hood alaignment issue that I ended up adjusting. All other areas and fits are good, it is a fun machine to drive.
