2008 HHR struts...

New here! Question for anyone who may have the same issue? Leaking rear strut at 73,000kms (oil in my driveway) replaced both, and now both fronts have been replaced at 86,000kms (due to fairly severe clunking noise). GM.CA calls this 'normal' wear and tear after posting a complaint. No 'rough' road driving and no trailer pulling. Any others experience the same?

Welcome to the site.

HHR's do not have rear struts. Only shocks back there. Cheap and easy to replace.

Thanks for the quick replies, and yes FIREMANGEORGE you are correct (rear are shocks). I am really surprised that I am replacing these already. Have had GMs and of course many others in the past with many more miles/kms and never this type of issue. I was curious to see if this was a common probelm. Other than this, and some other front end work, I have really enjoyed the HHR for the past 3 yrs and 65,000kms!!

My dad just bought an extended warranty from GM with his brand new Trax shocks and struts are not covered because they are considered "wear and tear" items. Sad but true.
Getting 85000 kms is actually pretty good if you look at other posts on this forum. However the original ones on my 1997 cavalier are still fine.

86k is pretty good. My struts went at 60k. The suspension components on these are just crap.
