2009 Panel LS Brake Master Cylinder O-Ring

Going to replace my Brake Master Cylinder and it appears the O-Ring that is supposed to be replaced is now obsolete. No one seems to have one, although I haven't contacted the dealer's parts dept. Any thoughts or cross reference info for this part? Even if I were to simply rebuild the seals in the MC, I would still like to replace this O-Ring. Maybe my idea of keeping this car for 20yrs is wishful thinking. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Just replaced the entire front brake components from Rock Auto. Had a shop check the drums and bleed the entire system again. Brakes work but I sense the pedal is traveling too far down. The brake pedal on this car has always felt a touch soft from new.

These two grommets for the reservoir come with the replacement reservoir, I’ve never seen them separate, so perhaps a new reservoir is in order

Don’t forget their discount code!

That being said , Dorman might have grommets for that application at your local parts palace.

It appears that the master cylinder comes with a new reservoir. In this link, the picture of the Raybestos shows the O-ring included.

I see Cardone and the AC Delco one I posted, and the AC Delco for the manual transmission models.

You're looking at reservoirs, he says he's replacing the master.

Hmmm... Their site is weird. Seems whatever page you very first land on, that is the URL that gets copied (and pasted).

I don't know how to work around it. You'll just have to select "master cylinder" instead of "master cylinder reservoir". Then you'll see them.

Thanks for your replies. I purchased a new MC with Reservoir from Tasca Parts. Haven't received yet. I'm not referring to the seals between the reservoir and mc but the single larger O-ring that goes on the sleeve of the mc. The part # is 22729482. It's listed everywhere but no longer available. I will try to see if the dealer has it. Don't think the new master comes with it. RJ, I see in the Raybestos pic the O-Ring seems to be present. In the AC Delco pic, there is no O-ring shown. I ordered an AC Delco. Maybe I should have ordered the Raybestos. I ordered the O-ring from a seller on Amazon which said they had it, but then they cancelled the order. Go figure. I just might have to reuse the original ring with some silicone grease. Not sure what it's isolating, Maybe vacuum from the booster. Thanks again, all.

Yes, I think OP is asking about the O-ring between the master and the booster.
