2011 transmission slippage
Update: I pulled the entire undercarriage (front and rear) out of the 2008 donor car. Mounted 4" casters on it and am able to push it around the shop on those.
I installed the transmission, torque converter, axles and lower control arms from the 2008 into the 2011. I did find metal in the trans pan of the 2011 so it was definitely burned (stank badly too)
The 2008 transmission went in smoothly and everything hooked up including every wire connection and shifter cable. There are no external differences on the transmission.
The car drives fine with the new set up and seems to rev a bit higher between gears. (ie, shift points at higher rpm) but goes smoothly down the road. The 2011 has 159,000 miles on it so maybe this transmission will get it down the road for another year or so. Thanks to those of you that provided valuable info.
