ABS module, hard shifting, gauges going crazy, alatm(?) dahs indicator on

I have a 2008 LT and the ABS module has been out for some time. It's discontinued, so I can't find one but other than dash indicators being lit it hadn't been a problem. Recently, a whole bunch of other things started going wrong - very hard shifting, gauges going crazy, alarm(?) dash indicator on, and battery (new) needing jumped every time I turn the car off. I took it to a dealership who said it was the ABS module. I'm not sure that the ABS module could cause all these problems. The car will drive perfectly normally for about 10 minutes and then it gets worse and worse. When I drove it off the dealership for storage, the power steering had gone out by the time I parked it. Does anyone have any ideas? If the module is the problem and I can't get it, is it feasible to upgrade the system to accommodate a later model's module?

I’m thinking it’s the battery, have it load tested, less than 12.4 volts static is a dead battery. Not enough voltage to power the computers in the car.
maybe GM has discontinued it but RockAuto lists the ABS module

Battery check first and if good we need to codes of all modules.

Thanks, I'll see if I can do that, but it's just been at the dealership and the battery is only a couple of months old. The ABS module for this model is the AC Delco 25798970 which also has active brake control. The ones I can find do not.

Check the battery voltage anyway. It may not be charging properly. It may be damaged.

In any event, you're still going need to scan for codes. A low-end scanner may not get the C codes. My local O'reilly store gets 'em all. Write down the actual numbers.

We did have a member with lots of HHR experience, he often said that the ABS brain can cause all kinds of problems. His test was to disconnect it. He'd get some codes from it being disconnected, but if the weird symptoms cleared up, then he knew that it was faulty.

What does "ABS module has been out" mean?
No junkyards in your part of VA?
My first thought is the fuse box bolts need tightening.

That's a good suggestion - taking the module out and seeing if it still does the weird stuff. To clarify the ABS module was diagnosed as faulty over a year ago and the junkyards I spoke to didn't have the right model. It drove just fine for months with the traction control light on. I'll keep looking for now.
