AC power button

My AC does NOT shut off when button pressed, the light goes off but cold AC keeps on working...

Is the selector switch in one of the 2 "defrost" setting. Is the fresh air set to recirc?

Both of these conditions will make the A/C compressor run.

I put it in recirc while I am in bumper2bumper traffic for obvious reasons.

I should have said "either" not "both".

So, is that the problem? Problem solved? Did I help?
