AC stopped blowing cold air, and check engine light is now on
Hey,
I recently bought a 2010 Chevy HHR LT about a month ago and today my AC stopped blowing cold air all of a sudden. The check engine light also just lit up and I am not sure if they are connected or not. I also recently installed a new stereo without the factory harness along with replacing my two front speakers, not sure if that could even have an impact on the AC or check engine light. Anyway, the AC was working great for about a month, so do you think that it is a leak? Any advice or thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

Certain CEL's (Check Engine Light) will disable the AC. You need to have the trouble codes pulled (CEL codes) to see what the computer is telling you the problem is. Most auto parts store will pull codes for free if you don't own a code reader device.
You can post up the code numbers here and we can point you to the fix. EX. P0001, P0002.
BUT, post up codes only: no descriptions because those can be inaccurate and sometimes wrong.

And ???
Why do people start a thread, ask for help, then don't follow up with it. (and I know the OP came back by looking at their time stat) Been a lot of that going on lately on this forum.
Guess I'm Out on this one too.

Yes, you never found out why the CEL was on. It was probably because your t-stat is stuck open. Have you looked at the water temp readings? They should be above 180F after it warms up in 5 minutes or less. (ambient temp makes this vary and the condition must occur on 2 consecutive starts)
