Adding Remote start

Hi I have a 2011 hhr and I have 3 fobs that have the remote start button at the top. But I don’t have a ap3 code In the glove box. Have read that some people have been able to add it, wondering where you go to add it and what you use. I am a technician at a chevy dealer and was wondering where to go in the tech 2 to program my hhr to add remote start If that was possible.

Thanks!

First, go into the personalization menu in the DIC and see if there is an option to enable/disable RVS; if there is enable it. To make sure look at the hood latch mechanism, if there are wires going into it you have RVS (NOT going to the front impact sensor behind the latch. If the car does not have the safety interlock on the hood latch you would not be able to add RVS through the BCM without figuring out how to update the BCM and ECM firmware and adding the interlock. To do that you would have to lie to Techline about your VIN.
The AP3 does not mean the same thing in 2011models.
If you are a technician at a Chevy dealer why are you asking the internet how to use the Chevrolet computer? As far as I know you follow the directions on the screen, or call Techline for help.

If it was a 2008 model there are easier ways to do it, but only that 1 year.
