akamike102 has hard start problem

I have a 2006 hhr and when I put gas in it has issues starting I have to put pedal to floor what could this be

Usually this is a EVAP system problem. Probably the canister vent valve, the one near the gas tank, but possibly the one under the hood.

Welcome to the site, I concur with Don, it could also be a dirty throttle body.

Does the CHECK ENGINE light come on? If so, have you downloaded the error code from it?
