While my 06 was up on the rack for an oil change, I noticed something sticking out between the spokes on a front wheel. I first thought the Chrome was peeling off but this came from the BACKSIDE of the rim. We have tough winters here, but I keep my car clean even in the winter and that includes cleaning the backside wheel rims. This evidently was a protective coating for the alloy wheel and so far has NOT affected the bright chrome FRONT of the rim. I thought maybe the wheel was damaged during a tire repair, but the peeling is now showing up on 3 of the wheels. I've never had an alloy peel a coating like this. Do I need to clean and recoat with some product??
