hey guys,my moms alt is about dead in her 06 hhr,and was wondering if i can rebuild it with components from a 05 cobalt alternator?
but im sure about the amps,the hhr is 115,while the cobalt is 140. is that too big a difference? or will it overload stuff,like the pcm?

the reason for this,is because i found an alternator for 50 bux in town(05 cobalt),compared to 150 at autozone.

Amperage wont matter as ther internal regulator will keep voltage at the correct levels....the amperage inly pertains to load..as in it can handle up to 140 amps...so...now you can add a good stereo and amp system with no problem...that is if the alt will work, that I dont know.
