Anybody Have These Same Problems?
Hi everyone! Well I have a company car which is a 2006 LS with 56k on it. I love the concept of the vehicle and the styling and milage is great! Heres the thing... I can buy it from the company pretty cheap but I have this list of problems that need addressed. Mainly...
1. Has a pretty loud knock in front end when ever I hit bumps (already had the steering column replaced at 39k miles and the steering actually feels fairly tight).
2. When it rains there is water dripping from under the dash onto the carpet on the passenger side.
3. The blower fan motor has seized up and wont blow air (might have something to do with the water leaking in).
4. The fan switch on the dash quit working altogether (for a while the highest position worked only).
5. When it gets above 90 outside, the car wont start after turning it off unless I let it sit for about ten minutes? (if I take off the fuse box cover before I leave the house this does not happen).
6. Drivers seat has a weird clicking noise in the base when I lean back and forth (this I can live with just thought I would ask since it DRIVES ME FRICKING CRAZY!!!).
As I said I like the car and want to really make it a cool ride by 2 toning it, lowering it, and adding some wheels and tires, but wanted any opinions on causes of these problems.
Thanks!

The fan issue and leak are related. Search for the butyl patch repair. You definitely need that fixed to fix the leak, and need either a new blower resistor or the whole blower motor assembly, depending on whether the blower motor is shot or not. None of these repairs are terribly expensive. The suspension issue might be the sway bar bushings or something like that... others that have experienced it should be able to post. It probably isn't a big expense either.

#2. I had rain on the passengters side only a couple of weeks ago.
Took it to my local Chevy Dealer, they removed the wiper blades and cowel cover.
There is an access panel that when removed you are able to see the "Cabin Air Filter". I am not sure if that is the access panel to replace it or not.
Netherless, there is a "Very cheep seal" for outside atmosphere shielding (water and dust). The seal came loose and gravity took over, the seal acted like a funnel and let the water fill the cavity for the passengers feet. (And where our dog lays when we go on a trip). Drivers side was dry, no issue there. They put a bead of sealer around it, reinstalled the panel and other items removed. We left the car in Houston TX last week, It rained every day we were gone. we were gone for a week. NO WATER LEAKS INSIDE CAR!!!!
I suspect this is going to be your fix for the water.
I only hope that when its time to change the "Cabin Air Filter", I don't need to remove that panel.
Good luck !!

Let me address a couple of your gripes, since they're fairly common in all vehicles used as company cars that have a tendency to get the living crap beat out of them just by everyday use going above and beyond what a private owner would do to it.
Possibly a sway bar link went out. At any rate, check the suspension, somebody probably tried to take a powerslide curve with it at some point and popped a ball out of the link.
Usually indicates a bad blower motor resistor. Have an A/C shop check/replace it. If, as you said, the blower motor is seized, that would probably correlate to the switch not working at all now, but the resistor is used to retard the motor's speed at the lower settings: when it goes out all the lower settings die.
On older design vehicles, this usually indicates an overheat issue with the ignition module, especially since you say it doesn't happen with the fuse box cover off. Sounds like there may be a restricted-airflow problem under the hood, especially on the driver's side where the electrical cluster is mounted.
Depending on how many other guys drive this car (and how much they weigh or how heavily they drop into the seat), this may simply be something broken in the driver's seat hinge. If it doesn't bother you, don't worry too much about it.
Hope we can help!
