Nope, not here. Nice solid shifts. Not what you would expect from a performance trans, but solid.

You might try shifting manually and see what result is obtained. I believe the trans software, when doing this, is slightly different for more "solid" shifts.

I really do prefer the shift pattern in "I" - intermediate mode. Im just afraid of putting too much strain on the tranny.

What is the difference in the two? What does "I" do differently than when in drive? Thanks for the thread, Ive always wanted to know.

Here's what the 08 manual says about Intermediate (I):

INTERMEDIATE (I): This position is also used for
normal driving. However, it reduces vehicle speed
without using your brakes for slight downgrades where
the vehicle would otherwise accelerate due to
steepness of grade. If constant upshifting or
downshifting occurs while driving up steep hills, this
position can be used to prevent repetitive types of shifts.
You might choose INTERMEDIATE (I) instead of
DRIVE (D) when driving on hilly, winding roads and
when towing a trailer, so that there is less shifting
between gears.

Yeah it seems to keep the tranny lockup engaged (similar feeling to letting your foot off the gas while driving a manual) but it also seems to upshift a little quicker in lower gears.

From a seat of the pants feel: While in I position, drives like an Automatic (shifts 1+2+3, but no OD) but the shifts are crisper and at higher RPM shift points. As some of the forum members says it can be fun to drive in this mode. When you slow down, the down shift to (1st?/2nd?) is more abrupt, which makes me wonder what would happen if this happens in slippery conditions such as ice or rain.

I don't think "I" goes into the top gear, so I wouldn't use it outside of town.

I use the "I" gear to help me slow down on snowy/slippery streets.

You'd think it might cause a spinout but it stays straight.
