BAD Antifreeze leak 2010 2.2

Hi First post. First noticed a small drip drip under engine. Thought it was ac dripping from shutting car off. Started driving and temp went up to 240, pulled over and antifreeze was poring out from under the engine. I jacked it up, removed front right tire. Looked from bottom, looked from top. looked with a mirror and flashlight, darn if I can see where it is leaking from. Antifreeze stops leaking so I put half gallon water. Water starts poring out immediately.
First thought is water pump of course. The water is coming from somewhere from the top of the pump or just above the pump. Any thoughts, wish I had ex ray vision.

Welcome to the site.

You say it's coming from the water pump just by looking at it ? Not sure about that because the water pump can't really be "seen" from the outside.
The pump is considered to be internal because it is chain driven and resides behind the timing cover.

Take a little closer look and maybe grab a picture and post it.

No, this is your second post - and identical to the first. Your other post has been deleted.

x2 what FMG states - also check the expansion tank which a few people have had problems with. How many miles on the car?

about 85 K for miles You can't see where the leek is coming from, but it is ruining over the outside of the water pump. So it has to be coming from the top of the pump (which I can't see) or somewhere above the pump then running down over the pump housing. And it is a big leak. As soon as you put water in the radiator it runs out the bottom.

Sounds like a water pump weep hole issue , see #9 and #14 here

I'll expand on Firemangeorge and Whopper's suggestion:
1. Take a picture of the spot where you saw the leak.
2. Load it into Paint or other editing software
3. Circle exact spot of leak(or arrow, etc)
4. Upload pic into post, here's how-to link https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-...ur-post-58345/

Then we'll be able to see the leaky part. We'll say, "yep, that's the water pump" or "uhhh... that's nowhere near the water pump". We have no idea what your level of experience is, and like FMG said, the water pump is pretty hard to see.

Just saying let's all get on the same page before you start spending time and money on parts and/or service.

Oh, and to the forums!!

Well, if you can't see where it is coming from, can't give us a reasonable description of the source, can't provide a picture of the details, perhaps you can elaborate on what exactly it is you wish us to help you with?

At this point about all we can do is nod our heads in sad agreement.

Could be coming from either the water pump itself or the cross tube coming from the thermostat housing to the water pump, there are o-rings on each end.
