belts
I have to pick up some new shocks this week. I just thought I'd look into replacing the belt before it breaks. I have about 68000 miles on it and I'm about to pass it on to my daughters. I'm trying to do as much as possible before placing it in their hands. I'm not having any problems with the belt. I just don't want it to brak with them on the road somewhere.
Kevlar?
a salesman told me the hhrs have a kevlar belt. if this is true, i don't know how long they last , but at least it should be bullet proof ,- for a while-.
as far as changing it , i would think that it's simple. i've done other serpantene belts , all i needed was a 1/2in ratchet to take pressure off the spring/bearing/hicihu. i hope the hhr is just as simple. as it gets older i'll be considering keeping a belt and a ratchet in the car. it beats waiting for a tow.
