Blob-O-Grease

I noticed a blob of grease on my passenger door. When I went to wash the car, I then noticed a large ridge of grease on the lip of the fender well, about 45 degrees above the hub. There's also some grease marks on the wheel covers. (I've got steelies and hubcaps for winter.) I'm thinking a maybe a CV boot let go, but it's been too cold to go crawling around under the car. I'm hoping I just ran some grease over, but it looked like very clean grease to me. Updates as weather permits.

Unless it's changed, the CV grease is a blueish/green color.

Snoopy's right...it's an aqua (blueish-green) color when it's greased prior to shipment off the line.

Well inspection of the CV boot revealed that it's fine. I must have run over the grease. I had also been getting an awful sound from that same wheel on bumps. The strut boot had become detached at the bottom.
