Bluetooth question

Hey all! I have an 09 2LT and have my phone paired with the bluetooth system in the car. I've had 2 issues with this and wanted to know if anyone else has experienced what I have experienced. The first issue is that there is a high pitch whine when using Bluetooth, Onstar, or XM radio. It was just in the shop and they have ordered suppressors to be placed in the wiring. The second issue just happened yesterday. I was in the garage and needed to use my cell phone. When I dialed, I heard the number tones coming from my HHR. The HHR was turned off and the keys were NOT in the car. The manual definitely says that the bluetooth system only works when the keys are in the car and turned to the On/ACC position or if the car is on. This kept happening until I drove the car and now it doesn't do this anymore. Anyone have these issues?

Its funny you mentioned this. Lately I have noticed that my cell phone is showing a bluetooth pairing when I'm near my car (the car is turned off).

I have no clue why this is happening.

I have an 09 and took it in for service a couple weeks ago (had a bad battery). I do not know if it's related or not but my bluetooth is now working correctly, phone disconnects when I remove the key.

Before that my phone was operated by the HHR even after I went into the house. Missed a lot of phone calls if I did not remember to use my phones menu to manually disconnect it.

Strange.....heh

This TSB might be the noise issue.

I have not heard of the bluetooth connecting when vehicle off.

On a different note: I was talking on my phone and my Tahoe drove by. When it got close to me the bluetooth stole my phone call and the tech driving my tahoe had my call.

I've got a similar and funny problem. I own a Toyota Solara with Bluetooth. My wife was driving the Toyota last night and I was following her in my van. I tried to make a call to my daughter. Couldn't use the phone, but it said I was connected. My wife said the phone was trying to connect inside her car. Glad I don't have a girlfriend.

I would also like to know how to easily disengage from Bluetooth in the car when you want to. Haven't figured that out yet.

Only issue I have had is when following my wife and I can't call her because the HHR (she is driving) is picking up my cell phone when I am behind her in the other car.

When connected to Bluetooth you can transfer it to your phone by using the Transfer command. Press the PTT button and say Transfer. The call will now be on you phone. To return the call to the vehicle all you need to do is Press the PTT button. (the PTT button is is the on with the image of an old style handset.)
