I don't think that is what Chevy meant. Especially since it is a manual dial!

As i was starting to post this here, i was gonna say that the recirc. setting is not a "latched" switch situation,(an electrical activation vs a mechanical setting ie: fan spd sw.) meaning when you start the car back up that particular switch setting will not be retained, which is true i suppose.
But thinking about things further , i remembered reading something along the lines of when remote starting in colder weather the rear grid defroster will come on if the temp is a determined level. So , so much for that thinking I'm figuring GM programmed the rear defrost to "turn on" on remote start , taking away any validity to what i just posted LOL.

Now i'm wondering too, if things can be reprogrammed to keep recirc. engaged on startup also

But recirculate is not a temperature setting it is a mode. Temperature settings are controlled by the temperature knob.

Only when a wire-head figures out GM's programming and how to load a boot-leg program onto a scanner that will then allow the car to function as designed except for the recirculate mode, then it will happen.

Yeah, it comes on. It's weird, but oh well!

As for the remote start, I guess I could just experiment with mine, but I'm curious to just ask you all. If I leave the fan on off, does climate come on anyway? I don't think I have ever noticed it, but that is what it sounds like from what you all posted from the manual. I have always been taught that it is bad to turn your car off and on with features (radio, a/c) on.

So it must be around 90's today and I put my a/c on and it feels the same as if it wasn't on what is up with up. So, I shut it off for 10min and cold is coming out and put it back on and it feels exactly the same. I've complained twice to the garage about it (what I think) flaking out on me and they say nothing is wrong with it. I said ok please put the screen on the front so nothing DOES happen and they did and still I think something is wrong. Anyway else having issues?

Mine kicks up a notch in fan speed (IMO) ,and the a/c comp engages (noticed that during a fan on only period when it was cooler out,) and felt the "a/c" chill when i had it on recirc.

The other day I had it off all day and it was very cold I put it on for 20min and it didn't get any colder. I think it is running all the time and stuck, which would explain my drop in my gas mileage the past few weeks.

I hate sticky air blowing at me, so I always press inside circulation so that air doesn't blow out when I have it off. Could this be messing with my mpgs, running somehow in the background?
