A/C compressor probably shot
When I looked into the some of the warranty complaints online, it looks like many of them make you fax in all your maintenance records and go over them with a fine tooth comb before granting the claim. Does the GMPP work that way or do they just pay the claim without hassle?
Oh by the way my dealership is going to fix it for only a $100 deductible, even though it's out of warranty! It is a bad compressor. Whew!

Hmmm...maybe they had some bailout funds left over?
Sorry, but I hadn't looked here in a few days! The warranty I have is administered by MPPCo.,Inc., P.O.Box634, Shawnee Mission KS 66201.1-800-747-4400. I bought it at the same time I bought the HHR at the Chevy Dealer here in town. It's called "Executive Premier Coverage" 6 Year 60,00 mi. (Still good for 2 more Years, but I'll be in a Home before I get to 60,00 miles!
)This was in August '05, before GM came up with their Extended Warranties, and 0% financing!! (Lucky Me!!)
So, I had never really thought about an extended warranty... Would that be a good thing to look into? Also, how much does one cost? I would be looking at the GMPP...but my certified used warranty doesn't expire until June, so I wouldn't need anything before then.
Well....It wasn't cheap, I can tell you that! I just looked at the contract from when we bought the HHR. The service contract (Warranty) was $1,865.00 for 6 Year/60,000 mi. coverage. That's a big chunk to add on to the price of the vehicle. I guess it's a roll of the dice when you buy this coverage
I would think that any company that sells car warranties would have more than one plan to choose from, but I'm sure the less it costs, the less it'll cover.
My 2006 HHR also got the problem with the AC compressor last Friday at 50000 miles, the engine died and just starts and stops, the workshop saying it was the AC compressor and costs more a $ 1000, luckily I have insurance for that too.

You've got that right! The Service Advisor at the Chevy dealer said that if I hadn't bought the "Premier Executive Coverage", the compressor wouldn't have been covered!!
