Just curious, did your Carmax car have new tires on it?

If it's still under factory warranty, a Chevy dealer will resurface the rotors under warranty. The repair may not last long, or could last for quite awhile. Worth a shot if you are under warranty.

Had a similar issue with my '06 LT. At 6,000 following mountain driving and again at 30,000 miles after heavy braking down steep grade. It's the rotors. You can have them machined at a chevy dealer if under warranty still. I'd start where I bought the car. Go back to Carmax and see if they will help. I replaced my front rotors with EBC drilled/slotted with EBC Green pads and it is a much better driving experience than what I had with stock rotors and pads. $300 all in. Best of luck

I think your best bet is to go back to carmax and let them know you are not happy with the purchase. They may be willing to split the cost of new performance slotted rotors, which is better than getting them turned or from GM.

Sorry you've joined the crappy-rotor club. If you haven't already, take the rotor poll here.
