change the belt

anyone done this yet? my car has about 45000 miles and i just want to do it to pervent a brakedown

Our cars don't have a timing belt, they have a chain... the chain will usually last the lifetime of the motor, but if it does break its not a cheap fix, as it will likely take a few other parts with it. Best to leave it alone

Not a bad idea with 45k to change the belt. That is the number 1 cause to be broke down on the side of the road "belts and hoses. More than half the people unfortunately wait for something to go wrong before any attempt to spend money on their car as far as maintenance goes.

I haven't done mine yet, only 22K miles, it seems much simpler than several others I've done in the past because there's very few outboard accessories.... access may be difficult though.
