Chevy HHR Startup
Chevy HHR Startup
Hi,
I am traveling across the country headed home. My hhr is having trouble starting as it wines up to start but when I put in my OBD code reader nothing pops up except code P0 128 which is not a battery or starter code.
I took it to a local mechanic and so far I have had them replace my throttle body and a fuel tank canister, because of codes that came up a few days ago.
My right side stabilizer was loose but my car was stable. I got my car back and now It rocks heavily back and forth when I come to a stop.
question:
1- does a starter code come up in a OBD code reader?
2- could a mechanic have made my car stabilizer worse as I dropped it off without any rocking back and forth and got it back swaying heavily?
3- are these good cars?
4- I’ve already put in $4000 in repairs over the last year, should I get rid of the car?

Don’t know if any starter code!
the lca rear bushings are more likely the cause of that rocking .
P0128 is a code indicating the thermostat is faulty, replace it with only an AC Delco 131-158 180 degree thermostat.
yes they are great cars
no , I would not get rid of it.

How many miles on it? I'm not aware of any codes for the starter. It may be that the starter solenoid is going bad and the starter will have to be replaced. If you have over 100k miles on any car you will be sticking some money into replacing wear and tear type parts. But as said these are great cars.
I’m trying to think of a reason the mechanic read the code and then changed the throttle body? But didn’t change the thermostat, he probably would have installed the wrong one, and just added green antifreeze.
wouldn’t just clean the throttle body and MAF sensor.
maybe there is missing information.
